Hey Breet Gang,

How’re you doing this fine morning?

Should I ask how you feel about going to work on a Monday for the first time since October began, abi should I just mind my business? 👀

Even undergrads are back in class for the first time in months – finallyyy! 🤲

It’s strange somehow, shey?

But ginger yourself o — it’s time to get back to the grind, no matter what that looks like for you! 🕺🏼

And as always, we like to start the new week with a run-through of the biggest stories in the Crypto scene, because if we don’t update you, who will? 😁

Ready to begin?

Let’s run through What Happened In The Crypto World Last Week together:

1. After a bloody week, Bitcoin finally made a 3.16% gain to $19,607, while Ethereum was up by 3.44% and hit $1,321 on Friday morning. Definitely a pleasant wrap of a chaotic market week! 🥺

2. In exciting news, Google Inc. has introduced a new crypto feature through its search engine that allows Google users look up and find data on Ethereum blockchain addresses.

3. Elon Musk has announced that his newly launched perfume called the ‘Burnt Hair’ can be purchased with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoins and other Altcoins. Will you wear Burnt Hair perfume too? 👀

4. There’s been drama surrounding Ethereum’s mixer Tornado Cash of late, and there was more of it last week! Coin Center is backing a second lawsuit against the US Treasury over its Tornado Cash sanctions, as they claim the US Treasury has overstepped legal bounds. Who go solve this matter bayi? 😏

5. Meanwhile, Singapore-based crypto exchange Crypto.com has announced plans to invest €150 million into France, as it chooses Paris for its European Union Headquarters. The city of love sef dey show Crypto love! 😁

6. Tech Giant Google made some big moves last week, as they announced a partnership with Coinbase to drive Web3 innovation by using Coinbase to accept cloud payments in cryptocurrencies 🤩

7. Mango Markets — Solana-based decentralized finance (DeFi) platform — was reported to have been drained by hackers! The total loss? About $100 million. Wahalurr 🙃

8. In not-so-pleasant news, Crypto exchange Bittrex has been fined $29 million by the U.S. Treasury Department over the exchange’s lack of sanctions controls between 2014 and 2017! 😢

9. And finally, the SEC has commenced investigations on Yuga Labs Inc, creators of the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club collection of NFTs, over whether sales of its digital assets violate federal law or not. How do you think this would go? 🌚

That’s it, Gang – you’re all caught up.
